We are now looking for another system developer with a focus on solution architecture for the IT unit for system development in Karlstad.

Our system development takes place in self-driving, responsible, and initiative-taking agile teams, supported by our solution patterns and architectural guidelines. Some systems have a monolithic architecture based on Java Enterprise, while others follow a microservice architecture based on Quarkus in Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

In the role of system developer with a focus on solution architecture, the following tasks are included:

• Develop systems in new and existing solutions. We see this as an important part of solution architecture with an understanding of the different systems.
• Be responsible for designing and further developing solution architecture for both self-developed systems and associated purchased products.
• Evaluate and choose technologies, frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Create prototypes (PoC) for solutions, both regarding self-developed systems and purchased products.
• Introduce and implement modern solutions for new and existing systems.
• Create and ensure compliance with solution patterns, architectural principles, and architectural guidelines for the System Development Unit.
• Document solutions and architectural decisions in a clear and structured manner.
• Contribute to improving and standardizing development processes and architectural practices.

In this role, you will collaborate with other architecture roles within the agency, product owners, the business, external suppliers, and development teams.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a university or college education focused on systems science or data engineering, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.

You should also have:

• Several years of experience working as a system developer.
• Experience working as a solution architect or equivalent.
• Experience working with Java Enterprise solutions.
• Experience working with integrations of "loosely coupled" systems.

It is meritorious if you:

• Have experience migrating systems to new architectures.
• Have experience working in microservice architecture based on Kubernetes.
• Are a certified solution architect.

It is also important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

You can explain technical concepts in a clear and pedagogical way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You are collaborative and thrive in close cooperation with architects, system developers, the business, and external parties.

You drive the work forward, take responsibility for decisions within your area, and keep up to date with new technologies, tools, and working methods.

Conditions

We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period. The location is Karlstad. Travel to other offices occurs. Start date by agreement.

Due to the nature of the operations, the work is performed primarily on-site, which we hope will contribute to a clearer separation between work and leisure. You have the opportunity to train during working hours and of course receive a wellness allowance. We also offer parental benefit supplements and up to 35 days of vacation depending on your age.

The employment is security-classified, and we therefore conduct a security check with register control according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. The employment includes an obligation to be placed in wartime duties.

About Us

We at the Duty and Review Agency work to make Sweden safer. Our main task is to muster, enroll in basic training, and register personnel in the wartime organization. We also conduct tests and assessments for other agencies, such as the Police and the Swedish Defence University. In short: we ensure that the right people end up in the right place in the total defense.
