As a System Developer, you work in self-driving, responsible, and initiative-taking agile teams. Each day begins with a check-in where you, as a team, go through what you are working on and address any obstacles. You then continue with development – perhaps building on a microservice or improving an existing three-tier system. Later in the day, you collaborate with the business to transform needs into technical solutions. The day might end with you testing and documenting a new feature you have built. Perhaps you also look into how you can improve the performance of existing systems – all with a focus on stability, utility, and quality.

Job Responsibilities

The role of System Developer involves developing and maintaining systems in both traditional three-tier solutions and microservice-based architectures. You will also support the business in formulating requirements.

Competence development and collaboration with the business mean that you have the opportunity to develop both technically and within our business processes here.

Qualifications

As a System Developer, you should have:

• A university or college degree with a focus on systems science or data engineering, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
• A couple of years of professional experience in system development using Java.
• Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL and/or IBM Informix) from a developer's perspective.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience with microservices, REST, Git and/or GitLab, and experience documenting solutions in a systematic way.

Conditions

We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.

Due to the nature of the operations, you cannot work from home, but we hope this instead contributes to a clearer division between work and leisure. The position is security classified, and we therefore conduct a security check with registry control according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. The employment includes an obligation to be war-placed (assigned to wartime duties).

About Us

We at the Swedish National Service and Conscription Authority work to make Sweden safer. Our main task is to muster, enroll in basic training, and register personnel in the wartime organization. We also conduct tests and assessments for other agencies, such as the Police and the Swedish Defence University. In short: we ensure that the right people end up in the right places in the total defense.
