About the workplace

Kronaskolan is an educational unit that houses several operations under one roof. Lower secondary, middle school, preschool, and adapted primary school coexist in a large, modern school. The facilities are functional and the schoolyard invites activity.

Responsibilities

As a pedagogical assistant in school/after-school care, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, structured, and predictable daily life for the students. Your ability to remain calm and act professionally, even in stressful situations, is central. You work with a low-affective approach to create a positive and harmonious atmosphere where students receive the support they need to develop socially and academically.

Your responsibilities include supporting students in their learning, collaborating closely with teachers, and participating in the planning and implementation of school activities. You help ensure that students follow school routines and feel safe. By connecting the school day with after-school care, you contribute to giving the student a well-thought-out day both pedagogically and socially.

Through your stable and collected demeanor, you build trust with the students, even in situations that may be perceived as demanding, stressful, or challenging. We work with a holistic perspective, focusing on ensuring every student is seen and heard. Together with the school team, you contribute to creating a calm environment where every student has the opportunity to grow and develop.

You find it easy to collaborate with various professions as well as internal and external partners, and you are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues. Since no day is like another, it is important that you can adapt to both changed circumstances and needs.

The work includes both work in school and at the after-school care center for special education groups.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is crucial for creating a safe and structured school environment. You need to have a strong ability to stay collected and maintain a low-affective approach, even in pressured situations. It is important that you can work with engagement and empathy, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Experience working with students in need of special support or in environments requiring a low-affective approach is highly meritorious.

We are looking for you who:

• Have completed post-secondary education such as pedagogical assistant in school/after-school care or leisure center leader. Other education with pedagogy and the student at the center is also meritorious.
• Have experience working with children or young people, preferably in school or similar environments.
• Can communicate clearly and pedagogically, and remain calm in difficult situations.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The position is scheduled throughout the student's entire day and includes both school and after-school care.
