Description
We are looking for you who want to work at a new and fresh adapted upper secondary school in Gothenburg. An adapted upper secondary school is its own form of school with its own curricula. In autumn 2024, we started a new school unit for students at an early developmental level within the individual program. In autumn 2025, we expanded, and this autumn we will have even more students. The students are at different developmental levels and have an intellectual disability, often with additional diagnoses such as autism, physical disabilities, or visual and hearing impairments.
Our school is located in a quiet and nature-rich setting at Stora Holm on Hisingen. Nature and the beautiful surroundings are a natural part of the teaching. For those who commute by public transport, the nearest bus stop is just a couple of minutes away. In the autumn, the school will have 46 students divided into eight groups. We are now looking for competent and engaged student assistants who can help our students thrive, develop, and achieve the goals of the education. Your work will contribute to the school's success in its pedagogical mission and ensure that students are prepared for adult life.
Job Responsibilities
Your role as a student assistant involves creating clarity, structure, predictability, and security throughout the school day by using clear pedagogy. You will provide students with support both individually and in groups, in both learning and care. The goal of your work is to enable students to benefit from the teaching in the best possible way. To succeed in your role, a high degree of professionalism in your attitude is required, as well as the ability to adapt your working methods to the students' individual needs, conditions, and daily state. You have previous experience in dealing with students with challenging behavior and work with a low-affective approach.
You will be part of a work team where you collaborate closely with teachers, other student assistants, and student health personnel. The school's group leader is your direct supervisor. You contribute to creating a culture and attitude that align with the school's values. We believe in long-term work through humility, responsiveness, and collaboration. We believe we become wiser and better together. We think that well-being is important and believe that joy and engagement are contagious. We have started building a really good school and workplace, and we want you with us. Welcome!
