We are looking for you who are responsible, engaged, and enjoy teaching. Naturally, you must also feel comfortable in and around water. Previous experience in leadership roles related to swimming, swim school, and/or other teaching is advantageous. However, we place great emphasis on personal qualities during recruitment. ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION Mölndals Allmänna Simsällskap (MASS) is a non-profit, member-run association that provides swimming instruction and training for children, youth, and adults. We conduct all our activities at Åbybadet in Mölndal and follow the guidelines of Swedish Swimming. MASS is an association that welcomes everyone and works for heart, development, and success. We offer among other things:
- DEVELOPMENT: Training in leadership and pedagogy. Practice working in teams. Be a role model for all participants.
- COMMUNITY: A large leadership team with many colleagues. Numerous joint meetings and activities each term.
- EXPERIENCE: An opportunity to grow as a person and feel that you contribute. Many employers view leadership roles positively on a CV.
We are looking for you who want a leadership role within our swim and technique school during the autumn (and onwards), starting week 34/35. The schedule is set for one to three days per week (weekday afternoons from 16:00, Saturday mornings/afternoons, or Sunday mornings/afternoons), with sessions lasting between three to four hours. In the swim and technique school, you will meet children aged 4-12 and teach the basics of swimming. You will be active in the water to demonstrate and correct the children, working together in a team of two to three leaders, sharing responsibility for the groups. GENERAL INFORMATION
- This is a voluntary leadership role. Compensation in the form of hourly payment is paid out monthly.
- You must turn 16 during the year to apply, as this is the minimum age to participate in the offered training.
- Mandatory participation in introductory training for upcoming leadership roles and attendance at a kick-off meeting (exact date to be announced later).
- Previous experience in education and/or swimming is appreciated, as is completed training through Swedish Swimming or the Swedish Life Saving Society.
- The association requires that you, as a leader, undergo CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training during the autumn (2 hours), either through us or another provider. The association covers the cost of the training.
- You must also present an extract from the criminal record register to become a leader.
- You must demonstrate swimming proficiency and the ability to retrieve a dummy from a depth of 180cm, as well as tow the dummy for at least 15 meters.
- Please note that feedback will be provided on an ongoing basis.
