Midwife at Primary Care Area South, Umeå

Primary Care Area South consists of the health centers in Teg, Hörnefors, and Nordmaling. We are now looking for you who are a midwife and wish to work at our health center in central Umeå. Our catchment area has a mixed population from both the city and the countryside, with approximately 18,000 people registered with us. Since we have good staffing across all professional categories at the health center, we are well prepared to meet the expectations placed upon us. Everyone who works here plays an important role in ensuring that people registered with us experience that we are there for them and offer secure care and competent advice. We have strong team cohesion and an engaged party committee, making our time enjoyable both during and outside working hours.

Job Responsibilities

As a midwife with us, you contribute knowledge and dedication that makes people feel secure.

At our family center, you meet people of all ages, and the work is varied, involving pregnancy monitoring, prescription/advice on contraception, parent education courses, and gynecological health examinations.

Your days are primarily filled with personal meetings with people you see physically at the clinic here at the Mother and Child Health Center (MVC). There is also contact with individuals seeking advice/care via telephone counseling and through 1177.se.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered midwife with prescription rights. Experience working at an MVC in a family/health center is an advantage.

You are a present and warm person who, with expert knowledge and care, focuses on the patient and their relatives. You have a talent for good structure and planning in your work. You are service-oriented and possess strong communication skills in interactions with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

You thrive working both independently and in a team. You are flexible in thought and action and are quick to find solutions to the challenges you face. Your personal suitability is important as you will be part of a small team where collaboration and communication are crucial.

Employment Information

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-09-01, end date: 2028-09-01.
