Are you looking for a unique and interesting job where you work for democracy? The Defence Committee handles issues such as defence, society's crisis preparedness, how the military and civilian defence should cooperate, and what preparedness Sweden should have for natural disasters.

The Riksdag Administration is an authority tasked with facilitating the work of the Riksdag. Approximately 750 non-partisan employees work at the Riksdag Administration with a wide variety of tasks. We are now looking for a temporary case manager for the Defence Committee's secretariat.

Your responsibilities

The work mainly consists of planning and processing the committee's meetings and visits, as well as assisting the committee assistant with administrative tasks when needed. The case manager's duties may also include drafting proposals for opinions and reports and independently working on the committee's EU issues. This includes compiling incoming documents and preparing materials for the committee's discussions. You will participate in supporting the committee's operations.

The committee has 17 members and is assisted by a secretariat with five employees. The secretariat belongs to the Committee Division, which consists of 15 committee secretariats, the EU Committee's secretariat, and an evaluation and research secretariat.

Your qualifications

You have an academic degree with a social science orientation. Experience working in the Riksdag Administration, the Government Offices, or another part of the state administration is an advantage.

Knowledge within the Defence Committee's area of preparation or about the EU is particularly advantageous. The work requires that you can express yourself well both orally and in writing, as well as having good knowledge of English.

You are meticulous and have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks. Furthermore, you can work both independently and in a group, sometimes under time pressure. The committee secretariat is a small unit, and the work is carried out in close cooperation with colleagues. It is therefore important that you thrive in a smaller group. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, especially your ability to cooperate and communicate.

Employee engagement is important to us. Working with us means that you are expected to act in accordance with our view of employee engagement: achieving results, developing, and cooperating.

The employment is fixed-term from October 2026 until the end of June 2028 but may be extended.

The position is classified for security, which in this case requires Swedish citizenship and a passed security clearance. We welcome applicants with different experiences and backgrounds.

  • Scope: Full-time
