Your new job

We are now looking for a case officer with a start date in early October 2026. Together with knowledgeable and engaged employees, you will handle and investigate our permit applications regarding the work environment for minors, asbestos, chemical work environment risks, and biocides.

In your daily work, you will investigate whether companies and private individuals applying have the knowledge and competence required to obtain permits. You will collaborate with inspectors across Sweden in these assessments and also contact applicants who need help and guidance in the application process. As a civil servant, you are expected to interact with the public in a professional and objective manner. The decisions you make can have a significant impact on businesses and private individuals. You will make individual assessments in each case based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations.

The position belongs to the Unit for Permits, Microbiology, and Radiation within the Rule-making Department.

Your background

The role requires that you have:

  • A relevant university education of at least 120 points under the old higher education system or at least 180 higher education credits under the new system. If you have relevant work experience, other education may be assessed as equivalent.
  • Experience of case processing within public administration.
  • Good IT skills and experience using various digital platforms and IT systems.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The following are considered meritorious:

  • Experience working with asbestos is highly meritorious.
  • Experience working with the processing of permit cases.

A position with us may involve security classification. Security clearance with or without register check may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment is made. Swedish citizenship is required for some of our security-classified tasks. Security clearance is conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

The employment is a permanent full-time position and is currently located at our office in Solna. We apply individual salary setting.

How we recruit

We use competency-based recruitment, both to ensure the quality of the recruitment and to counteract discrimination.
