Do you want to lead one of the most significant development assignments in Swedish education? We are looking for you who is an experienced leader of complex projects and has the ability to operate in changing contexts. In this role, you work towards a new and equitable grading system. Join us and contribute to the future of schools!

About the job

The Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) has been tasked with preparing for a new grading system featuring centrally corrected national final exams and a new model for calculating students' merit values. As the Project Manager, you are responsible for leading the work and keeping the various sub-projects together. Your role is central to the success of the assignment regarding a new and equitable grading system.

As Project Manager, you structure the overall work and coordinate different parts of the operations. Crucial to the assignment is close collaboration between IT and the business operations. You ensure progress in a complex development assignment with many dependencies, and conduct qualified analyses of the current situation, needs, and consequences. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that the project group delivers qualified investigations and analyses as a basis for the Area Manager's or the Agency Management's decisions. You identify development needs, prioritize efforts, and drive improvement work with a focus on efficiency, quality, and business value.

You collaborate closely with various functions within the agency and report to the assignment's steering group. There are several Deputy Project Managers in the project leadership who are important partners. Together, you lead the sub-project managers and ensure that the grading assignment is held together and developed in the right direction. The grading reform affects the entire agency, meaning you will have an important role in the cross-agency collaboration. Your role also includes representing Skolverket externally in the media.

Organizationally, you belong to the Examination and Assessment Area within the Curriculum Department. You are part of the area's management group, and the Area Manager is your direct supervisor. The Examination and Assessment Area is responsible for reforms concerning the grading system, exams, tests, and other mandatory materials. Central correction and exam services related to digital exams are also included in the area's responsibilities.

"As Project Manager, you are a key person in this socially important assignment that affects the future education system. Your good leadership and ability to find solutions to problems will contribute to making students' merit values more fair and equitable."

Jessica Jarhall, Area Manager
