We are now looking for two project economists for our Program and Project Support unit.

About the role

As Svenska Kraftnät's investment portfolio grows and projects become increasingly complex, the need for qualified financial support increases. As a senior project economist, your primary responsibility is to support project managers and lead project managers in financial monitoring, analysis, and forecasting within some of Sweden's largest and most complex infrastructure projects. You contribute structure, quality assurance, and financial decision-making support in projects with very large investment volumes.

The role also includes:

• Developing, coordinating, and quality-assuring forecasts in close dialogue with the project organization.
• Analyzing deviations against budget, forecast, and annual plan, as well as identifying causes and financial consequences.
• Developing and applying structures and working methods for financial monitoring in projects (e.g., contract changes such as Design-Build-Finance-Operate, as well as risks, uncertainties, indices, and quantities).
• Quality-assuring financial documentation prior to reporting and decision-making.
• Contributing financial analyses as a basis for project steering and decision-making forums.
• Collaborating with the project organization and support functions, and presenting financial analyses in meetings and forums as needed.

In your role, you will also work with business development by developing and improving processes, working methods, and methods within financial control and project monitoring.

You will collaborate closely with experienced specialists and project managers and will have the opportunity to deepen your competence in financial control, project monitoring, and business development. The role offers significant personal responsibility and good opportunities to influence working methods and processes within the organization.

As a senior project economist, you belong to the Program and Project Support unit, which supports Svenska Kraftnät's programs and projects in the implementation phase with a focus on planning and monitoring.

About you

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is structured, analytical, and confident in their competence, with the ability to create order in complex financial contexts. You are collaborative and thrive in close cooperation with others. In this role, you have a senior function where you act as a mentor and advisory support for colleagues. You have good pedagogical skills and contribute to knowledge sharing and learning in the organization.

Furthermore, you have a university degree in economics combined with the following experience:

• At least 10 years of professional experience as an economist.
• At least 7 years of professional experience as an economist within infrastructure projects, construction projects, or other types of projects that we consider relevant to our operations.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with construction contracts according to AB, ABT, and work with AMA, quantity contracts, and running accounts.
• Experience with contracts in the form of strategic partnering or project partnering.
• Experience in a supporting function in projects.
• Experience in mentoring.
• Good understanding of accounting as well as financial monitoring and reporting in a project or business context.
• Experience with the financial system Unit4 Business World (UBW).
• Experience in driving business development and improving processes.
