About us
The Finance Department is undergoing an organizational change where new positions are being added and the previous finance unit is being split into two units. The department will consist of four units: the accounting unit, the budget and planning unit, the procurement unit, and the payroll unit.
We are located centrally in Upplands Väsby and will move to new office premises at the end of autumn. There are good commuting opportunities with proximity to both commuter trains and parking. We value work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements.
About the role
You will have a central role in the municipality's work with economic and goal-based management, as well as continuing to develop the work with the management system, planning, and follow-up processes, including the municipality's premises supply work.
As the Budget and Planning Director, you will coordinate the budget process and the ongoing follow-up of the municipal group. This also involves continuous environmental scanning, developing and maintaining the management system, the municipality's resource allocation and economic control models, including investment control. Your unit will also produce and communicate guidelines and instructions for the budget process.
Furthermore, you will be a natural part of the work in exercising the municipal board's supervisory and follow-up role. In close cooperation and dialogue with the administrations, you will also develop the economic analysis. Together with other employees in the department, you are part of our development work.
The position involves personnel responsibility for a group of 14 employees, where 12 work in various controller roles and 2 within the municipality's premises supply.
A background check will be conducted prior to employment.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who have:
- A university degree in economics or equivalent relevant education
- Previous experience from a managerial role or other large organization
- At least a few years of experience as a controller in the public sector
- Experience with occupational health and safety responsibility
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an interest in systems
- Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience driving development work
- Experience of union cooperation
- Experience from a managerial role in the public sector
To succeed in the role, we believe it is important to have good analytical skills and to be accustomed to presenting economics in a pedagogical manner. To thrive in this position, it is also important that you have a talent for dialogue and creating engagement with employees and managers.
