The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR/UKÄ) contributes to strengthening Swedish higher education and Sweden as a knowledge society. We review higher education, analyze and follow up on developments within higher education, and monitor students' legal security.
The Operational Support department is facing an important development journey and is now taking the next step in building a new organization. From September 1st, the department will be organized into two groups, and we are now looking for a Group Manager who wants to lead the work in the group responsible for the areas of finance, HR, administration, and communication. The department currently consists of approximately 15 employees and is responsible for the agency's operational support. Through qualified support and service, the department creates the conditions for the agency to carry out its mission and achieve its goals.
As Group Manager, you lead and develop one of the department's groups and report to the Department Head. You are part of the department's management group and collaborate closely with the manager of the other group, which is responsible for IT and facilities, procurement and purchasing, information management, and security. You create good conditions for employees to develop and contribute to the organization's goals. You are also responsible for planning, prioritizing, and following up on the group's work, driving the development of working methods and processes, and ensuring professional and coordinated support for the agency's operations. The role includes operational, personnel, and budget responsibility.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, prioritize, and follow up on the group's work
- Ensure purposeful and quality-assured support for UHR's subject divisions and the organization as a whole
- Drive the development of working methods, processes, and routines within the area of responsibility
- Follow up on results, quality, and deliveries, and take action if necessary
- Create conditions for a good work environment and contribute to competence development within the group
Requirements
- University education or equivalent
- At least 3 years of managerial experience within the public sector
- Experience of having been a manager over at least one of the areas covered by the role, i.e., finance, HR, administration, communication
- Experience of personnel, budget, and operational responsibility
- Experience of driving change and development work with a clear focus on results within one or more of the areas of responsibility.
- Experience of leading and developing teams and creating a work environment that promotes engagement, development, and well-being.
Merits

- Experience of contract management and procurement according to LOU (Public Procurement Act)

About the Employment
The position of Group Manager is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period, with appointment as soon as possible. We apply individual salary setting.
