We are looking for two male assistants with an interest in music who have a genuine desire to support a young man with multiple disabilities. You need to be patient and pedagogical, capable of stepping back when necessary, but also able to be motivating and driving at other times.

The user uses a wheelchair and needs assistance with mobility, which means you should be of average height, healthy, and strong. He needs help with eating, dressing, and intimate hygiene. From June to August, we visit the outdoor pool at Lilla Amundön as often as possible. We are only seeking male assistants to allow for changing in the men's changing rooms.

His curiosity and thirst for knowledge mean you are expected to look up facts and lead lessons that end with helping him write shorter texts in Swedish and/or English. You need to be confident in these languages, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages would be a bonus. His musical knowledge is surprisingly extensive, and it is an area where he wishes to develop further. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate in an unusually attentive and adapted manner. It is not always easy, but when it works, both the assistant and the user are satisfied with the day.

The shifts are 8–9 hours long. The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. During each shift, you work alone for half the time, and the other half involves double assistance during pool visits. This makes the work varied and allows you to get to know your colleagues.

This job suits someone who wants meaningful work where they can make a difference. It could be someone who has not yet decided on their education and is reviewing grades, a cultural worker (preferably a musician) who needs a base income, or a teaching assistant who wants to work in a more structured one-on-one setting.

The position starts as an hourly employment with the possibility of transitioning into a summer temporary position. There may also be an opportunity to continue as a part-time employee as long as the assistance assignment lasts, provided you both enjoy working together.
