Höglandsförbundet is a municipal association formed by the municipalities of Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. These five municipalities, located in the Småland highlands, value cooperation and know that we become stronger together. By combining our strengths and resources, we can increase competence, utilize resources more efficiently, improve quality, and provide better services to residents. Today, we host a number of different operations working for the benefit of the entire High Region.

Within Höglandsförbundet, there is also the Högland Education Cooperation, which currently consists of Höglandsgymnasiet with schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. In total, we have approximately 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3,000 students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the future in the labor market or in further studies. In the summer of 2026, Högland's adult education programs will also join, located in Sävsjö, Eksjö, and Nässjö.

Your new job

We are looking for an employee for Eksjö Gymnasium who will work as a substitute teacher during the academic year 2026-2027. The role is an important resource in the school's operations and involves contributing to student learning and supporting various parts of the school's daily work.

Your primary responsibility is to substitute for teachers during absences and participate in school examinations. You will conduct teaching based on the planning prepared by the regular teachers and ensure that lessons are carried out according to plan. There may also be situations where you are responsible for multiple classrooms simultaneously.

If there is no substitute teaching need on a particular day, you will primarily support the school's special educational needs activities. If needed, work may also occur within the introduction programs (IM) and the adapted high school. You may also assist the school's administrative staff and school librarian with various tasks based on operational needs.

The position is varied, meaning that tasks may change from day to day depending on the current needs of the operation.

About you

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma and have worked for at least some time after graduation. A teaching license with eligibility to teach at the lower secondary and/or upper secondary level is an advantage. You must be able to communicate both orally and in writing in Swedish.

We need someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to contribute to a safe and positive school environment. You are an adult role model who treats students with respect and sensitivity. You have a good ability to adapt to changed circumstances and see the value of close collaboration with colleagues. You work independently, take initiative when needed, and easily create and develop good relationships with both students and staff.

About our school

Eksjö Gymnasium is located in central Eksjö and currently has approximately 580 students distributed across nine different programs and an adapted high school. We provide our students with a secure study period, with good conditions for further higher education or university studies and opportunities for meaningful work after high school.

At the school, in addition to educators, several key personnel work with the common goal that all students should feel safe, present at school, and succeed in their schoolwork.

Good to know

The position is a fixed-term employment with holiday cover at 90% during the academic year 2026-2027.

As the final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement according to the Education Act that you present an extract from the criminal record register for work within the school. You request this extract on the police website.
