Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

At Mariaskolan, we work according to our vision: Together for education and well-being!

If you want to work in a salutogenic inner-city school on Södermalm and be part of Mariaskolan's KRAM (camaraderie, respect, responsibility, and courage), there is now a recruitment position for a teacher in wood and metal crafts, combined with another subject. At Mariaskolan, you are expected to contribute your knowledge as a teacher in wood and metal crafts to our approximately 840 students and collaborate with your approximately 90 colleagues for the benefit of the student as a norm from a holistic perspective.

What we offer

Mariaskolan is a workplace with high engagement and collaboration for students' opportunities for education and well-being. Cross-professional collaboration with colleagues, the student health team's professions, and school leadership takes place in a structured and systematic manner.

At Mariaskolan, you have four subject colleagues in crafts to collaborate with during subject-specific planning and assessment.

As an employee of the Education Administration in the City of Stockholm, you have the opportunity to redeem your wellness allowance annually to take care of your own well-being.

Your role

We expect you to:

  • Conduct safe and secure teaching in the subject of crafts, primarily wood and metal crafts, in grades 4–9, as well as another subject.
  • Plan and follow up on your teaching in collaboration with your colleagues and students.
  • Take care of the craft rooms together with your colleagues.
  • Be a trusted mentor to your advisory students in grades 4–9.
  • Be engaged and participating in subject development based on current governing documents together with colleagues.
  • Be engaged in the student health work for the school's students.

Your qualifications and experience

It is a requirement that you are a licensed teacher in crafts, and we see it as an advantage if you are also qualified in another subject to combine with the position. In addition, we see that you need:

  • To be a confident leader in and outside the classroom who creates an accessible learning environment for all students.
  • To have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge and to adapt your teaching and communication accordingly, to both guide and challenge.
  • To have experience using digital learning aids and proficiency in the office package.
  • To have very good experience in teaching crafts.

Apply today!

The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

To work at our schools, you must present a valid extract from the police's criminal record and suspicion register before an offer of employment is made.

Within the Education Administration, we apply individual salary setting regulated by HÖK and General Provisions (AB).
