Edsbergsskolan is a secondary school with the vision "safe students who thrive in school and are well prepared for the future". The school consists of two parts: a primary school for grades 7–9 with just under 300 students and an adapted primary school for grades 7–9 with around 30 students. In the adapted primary school, we work with students who have an intellectual disability and who need a safe, structured, and individually adapted learning environment.

Responsibilities

As the responsible teacher and mentor in Edsbergsskolan's special education group, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching for students who need a smaller group and a clearly adapted learning environment. You work closely with students in their knowledge-based and social development and adapt the teaching based on individual needs and prerequisites. The role includes mentorship with regular contact with guardians, as well as close collaboration with the student health team, special education teachers, and other pedagogues to create a safe, accessible, and structured learning environment. You document and follow up on students' development according to current guidelines and actively work to strengthen their language, knowledge, and social skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a secure and clear leader who creates trusting relationships and a structured learning environment for students in need of special support. You have good cooperation skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues, student health services, and guardians, while also being self-reliant and taking initiative when needed.

You are flexible and can adapt teaching to students' individual needs, especially for students with varying linguistic and social prerequisites. We would like you to have experience and the ability to create safety, structure, and motivation in a smaller teaching group. Your inclusive approach and strong student focus enable you to meet each student where they are and support them in both knowledge-based and social development.

Requirements

• Teacher certification
• Experience teaching French, Spanish, and English at the secondary level
• Experience working with students in need of special support
