Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Askebyskolan is a preschool class to year 6 school (F–6) with approximately 350 students, including adapted primary school (approx. 35 students), a local special education group for years F–3, and approximately 70 staff members. The school is located in Rinkeby and has functional premises, just five minutes from the subway station. The school is in a development phase where the focus is on language-developing approaches, leadership and stimulation, as well as aesthetic learning processes. Our common holistic idea is aesthetic learning processes, and we strongly believe in the importance of aesthetics for deep knowledge and whole human beings – the student's access to all languages and modes of expression.
We are proud of our wonderful school and are now looking for a certified special needs teacher with a specialization in language, reading, and writing development or mathematics, preferably with a few years of professional experience.

Your role
In the role of a special needs teacher, you will, together with teachers and the student health service, contribute to ensuring that students receive the guidance and stimulation they need for their learning and personal development. In your work, you are expected, among other things, to propose interventions and adjustments for students in need, participate in the preparation of investigations and action plans, and take part in follow-up and evaluation. As a special needs teacher, you also work practically by providing support interventions to students and teaching individually, in groups, and in regular teaching situations.
On top of this, you have a consulting and supervisory role towards colleagues, other members of the student health service, and school leadership. You are part of the student health service and participate in preventive and health-promoting work. The role involves many contact areas with students, staff, and guardians.
You will primarily work with students in years 4–6 and will be part of a team together with other special needs teachers. Your work will focus mainly on students in need of special support, primarily within language, reading and writing development, and mathematics.
Your tasks include writing pedagogical assessments in consultation with mentors, preparing and evaluating action plans, and handling applications for additional funding. You conduct screenings in the grades and analyze and follow up on results at both group and individual levels. You have good experience using digital aids in your work with students. You have experience in teaching and mentorship at the intermediate school level.
It is an advantage if you have experience in language-developing work and Swedish as a second language, as well as knowledge of neuropsychiatric disorders (NPD/NPF).
