As a Controller, you will play a key role in establishing the financial management for the new Institution of Arts and Technology at Luleå University of Technology. About the position
We are looking for a Controller for the Business Support Unit at the Institution of Arts and Technology. The institution will have approximately 90 employees and over 900 full-time equivalent students.
You will be part of an administrative unit with around 9 employees working with financial, educational, and HR administration, led by an Administrative Manager. The unit serves as a shared resource for the entire institution, aiming to provide administrative support to management, researchers, teachers, doctoral students, and students. As a Controller, you will support the business management in planning, steering, and follow-up matters. You will work with financial decision support and analyses based on the needs of the operations. You will lead the finance group and the financial work, coordinating budgeting, accounting, forecasting, and operational follow-up. You will be responsible for further developing common routines and working methods regarding financial matters. Together with the institution's project controller, you form the finance function and provide support to the operation's departments and research subjects.
You will be part of a network with the university's other controllers.
Qualifications
The position requires a university degree in economics, preferably with a focus on financial management/accounting. You should have several years of experience in qualified financial work within the operational area. The role requires good verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English. Personal suitability will be given great weight. You should be outgoing, have excellent collaboration skills, and a strong sense of service.
You are results-oriented, analytical, have a structured approach to work, and easily build good relationships with people around you. Furthermore, you must be able to work independently, be proactive in change initiatives, and take significant responsibility for your tasks. You should be responsive to the management's and the operation's needs for support and requirements.
Scope and location
The position is a permanent full-time role as a Controller, located in Luleå. A probationary period may apply. The appointment will be made according to agreement.
