About the Role
As CTO at the Swedish Customs Administration, you have an important role in making decisions regarding IT technology that contribute to technical development and digital transformation. As CTO, you lead the work on implementing new technology and assess and manage risks. Furthermore, you have a key task in leading the development of guidelines and guidance, as well as ensuring that other parts of the organization implement the IT solutions appropriately. You will also assess the technical solutions from an economic perspective and ensure they are manageable over time. In addition, it is important to have the ability to inspire employees from different areas to work together towards common goals to best develop and streamline work, as well as to create and strengthen community and engagement.
The CTO role is new at the Swedish Customs Administration, which means you will have significant opportunities to influence how the work is structured and performed.
You will also collaborate closely with other departments, units, and development areas to ensure that our IT solutions are efficient, user-friendly, and aligned with our overarching strategies and goals. Your work will be crucial in promoting innovation and digitalization within the agency.
We are looking for you who are a confident and inspiring leader with the ability to combine technical depth with a strategic holistic perspective. You have experience leading technology development in larger organizations, preferably within the public sector or other regulated environments.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic degree in IT or equivalent work experience assessed by the employer.
- At least 5 years of work in a similar IT role within the last 8 years.
- Several years of experience in the IT industry with competence ranging from technical to leadership roles.
- The ability to continuously stay updated with technical trends in programming languages, platforms, infrastructure, development methodology, etc.
- Broad and current knowledge of on-premise IT solutions.
- Experience working in agile organizations.
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Swedish citizenship.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Broad and current knowledge of IT infrastructure, IT platforms, IT operations, and IT development.
- Broad and current knowledge of cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning.
- Knowledge of IT and information security.
- Experience with agile and innovative working methods.
- Experience working in public operations and/or large companies.
