You will work in a principal's area with three schools, based at Elmsta School, with special responsibility for students in grades three to six. You are part of a student health team consisting of a school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist, along with three special needs teachers who collaborate closely.

The Role
As a special needs teacher, you work to support students in need of assistance, individually, in small groups, and in class. The role involves:
- planning, implementing, and following up on special educational interventions
- conducting pedagogical assessments and contributing to extra adjustments and special support
- mentoring teachers in the classroom through guidance and stimulation
- participating in the work with action plans, follow-ups, and evaluations
- collaborating closely with teachers, student health services, and school leadership
- contributing to the school's preventive and promoting work
- being part of the school's safety team

Requirements
- licensed teacher with a special needs teacher degree
Merits:
- good knowledge of and experience working with students in need of special support
- special needs teacher degree with a focus on reading and writing
- ability to analyze student learning and adapt teaching based on needs
- strong collaboration skills and a professional approach
- excellent verbal and written Swedish skills

Welcome to Us
Elmsta School is located in the community of Älmsta north of Norrtälje. The school is one of three schools in the Väddö principal's area, which consists of Grisslehamn (grades F-6), Norrsund (grades 7-9), and Elmsta (grades F-6). Together we have approximately 270 students, and the schools are led by one principal and two deputy principals. We have a joint student health team supporting the schools. We have functional premises, and the schools are located with nature as the nearest neighbor. Together we are approximately 45 employees in various professions, and a mix of long experience and shorter experience creates a fine dynamic for developmental work.
Our vision is clear and simple: All children and young people should succeed in their schooling. To achieve this, we work hard every day. We focus on creating an inclusive and supportive school environment where every child and student feels seen, heard, and respected.
Employment Type, Scope, and Start Date
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Scope: Part-time 80%
- Start Date: 2026-08-10 or by agreement
