Berga's upper secondary education is developing, and we are looking for a teacher in livestock and nature-based agriculture for our students on the Nature and Agriculture Programme. We are looking for you who have an interest and relevant experience to teach in the subjects of livestock, livestock husbandry, nature-based agriculture, and potentially animal biology.

About the position

At Berga, it is never far from the classroom to practical work. Our school is located on a large farm and has an agricultural operation with crops, animals, machinery, and forests. Our agricultural education is growing and has high demand. The education is designed in consultation with leading actors within agriculture and prepares students for a future industry while also providing basic eligibility for further studies at university. During the students' three years at the school, they learn to run a farm with crops, animals, and machinery. The school offers everything students need to receive a broad and solid education in agriculture. The education focuses on animals, nature, technology, and sustainable development.

We are now looking for a teacher in livestock, livestock husbandry, nature-based agriculture, and potentially animal biology. You will have good opportunities to shape and develop our education. You are a solution-oriented and flexible person who enjoys working together with others. The students learn both practically and theoretically. We plan together to find a red thread in the education, and the teaching in animal subjects takes place both theoretically and practically together with instructors within the agricultural sector.

Part of the duties includes responsibility for the students' workplace-based learning (APL). This involves communication and cooperation with companies in the industry and visits to workplaces and farms.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher and have good knowledge of working with animals in agriculture. You are well-versed in the Swedish language and have the ability to work in an inspiring way in your teaching. You have good communication skills, are self-reliant, and are used to making your own decisions. You are a clear and creative leader in the classroom and adapt the teaching based on the students.

We expect you to contribute with engagement and have a professional attitude based on your personal qualities. We are looking for you who are solution-oriented, enjoy collaborating, and can create trusting relationships with both students, colleagues, and companies in the industry.

Meritorious qualifications

• Eligibility within nature-based agriculture, livestock, and animal husbandry
• Teaching experience
• Experience with workplace-based learning (APL)
• Network and knowledge within the industry
• Driving license category B with manual transmission

Conditions

Permanent employment with 100% engagement, with a 6-month probationary period starting in September or as agreed. To get an employment at Berga Nature and Agriculture Upper Secondary School, an extract from the criminal record register must be presented. About us

Berga Nature and Agriculture Upper Secondary School is located in Västerhaninge, outside Stockholm, and is owned and operated by Dille Gård AB. Berga is a high school with approximately 250 students. The school offers upper secondary education within the Nature and Agriculture Programme with specializations in Horse Keeping and Agriculture and has several profiles within these two specializations. We also offer adapted upper secondary school with the program for forest, land, and animals, as well as the vocational introduction program. We run a farm with crop cultivation, cattle, and sheep and have a large horse operation with our own riding hall. We have a wonderful community in the staff group consisting of about 60 people. For students coming from far away, there is a boarding house with space for just over 100 residents. The farm's area amounts to 600 hectares of arable land, forest, and pasture, which gives the school a unique location in Stockholm County with only 30 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. Since 1921, young people have been educated in agriculture at Berga, although the farm's history goes back much further in time.
