The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH) is Sweden's leading knowledge centre for sport, performance development, physical activity, and health. We conduct high-quality, socially relevant research focusing on the human body in motion. We educate teachers in physical education and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioural scientists, sports and health managers, sports scientists, and researchers. At GIH, 160 employees and 1,400 students work and study. The university college is located in central Stockholm, close to the Stockholm Stadium and a large sports and outdoor area.
The Department of Health Sciences offers education, research, and collaboration within the fields of psychology, neuroscience, and public health science.
We are now looking for a Project Assistant for research on the effects of training on health and performance during conscript education and in connection with rehabilitation after a stroke.
Job Description
The Project Assistant will work within two different research projects. One is a study evaluating the effects of strength and endurance training on conscripts' ability to complete military training (the "conscript study"). The study is conducted in collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces, and data collection takes place at several units. The task is to support and coordinate data collection, data management, and collaboration with other actors in the project. The second is a study on training in stroke patients (the "stroke study"). The stroke study is conducted at the Laboratory for Applied Sports Science (LTIV), GIH, and the task is to assist with data collection and support communication with participants.
The duties include, among other things:
- Assisting with data collection and collaboration within the framework of the conscript study, which involves communication with participating units, handling of questionnaire and register data, under strict confidentiality.
- Participating in and, under supervision, being responsible for parts of the data collection in the stroke study regarding endurance, walking ability, cognition, motor function, and physical activity.
- Contacting and supporting study participants in the stroke study via telephone and via a study-specific digital clinic/platform.
- Compiling and quality-assuring collected data in the two studies.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in a subject area that the employer deems relevant.
- Good language skills in Swedish, both oral and written, as a central part of the role involves communicating with study participants.
- Documented experience in handling and statistically analyzing large datasets.
- Basic knowledge of data collection via tests or measurements, as well as good digital proficiency.

Merits
- Experience of similar work and familiarity with working with data collection, preferably in a military context.
- Previous experience working with digital questionnaire platforms.
- Experience of conducting physical tests, endurance tests, or measuring motor function within the framework of research or clinical settings.
Duration/Working Hours
Fixed-term full-time employment for approx. 12 months. Start date August 15th, or as agreed.
