The Technical and Street Operations Unit is part of the Technical Department within the Community Planning Office. The Technical Department is responsible for operations in the municipality and consists of four units: Park and Environmental Operations, Traffic Operations, Technical and Street Operations, and Sports.

The Technical and Street Operations Unit plays a key role in ensuring that the municipality's streets and public spaces function in everyday life and develop in line with the municipality's growth. The unit is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of street operations, as well as new construction projects involving streets, park environments, school and preschool yards, and water and sewage facilities. Daily tasks include, among other things, pavement and asphalt maintenance, stormwater management, street lighting, snow clearing, and work on traffic environments. The unit also plays an important role in project management and collaboration in infrastructure projects related to the municipality's development.

Responsibilities

Are you our new Unit Manager who leads and develops the operations with security, calmness, and clarity?

As Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, and budget. The unit consists of 17 employees, including construction workers and foremen.

You report to the Head of the Technical Department and are part of the department's management group. There, in addition to the responsibility for your own unit, you contribute with a holistic perspective and actively participate in the department's development and change work. The role involves many interfaces, both internally and externally, where you collaborate with clients, project organizations, and external actors. You are responsible for driving operations with a focus on functional service, long-term planning, and efficient working methods. Winter and on-call readiness are part of the managerial duties, where you have the overall responsibility for the municipality's winter road maintenance and participate in the readiness yourself.

This is a role where you have a central function in developing the municipality's street operations and infrastructure activities in practice. As Unit Manager, you work in a rapidly growing operation, where you have ample opportunity to influence how operations and projects work together in daily activities and in the community planning process.

You work close to the operations and have a clear mandate to drive issues forward and develop working methods and solutions. The role involves a daily routine where you are both present in the operations and contribute to decisions that have a direct impact on the municipality's public spaces.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have several years of experience in a managerial role with personnel and budget responsibility and who feel confident in your leadership. You have good computer skills and good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. In addition, you have experience of street operations and infrastructure projects and hold a B driving license.

It is meritorious if you have experience of working in a politically governed organization, have completed leadership training, and have BAS U training. It is also meritorious if you have experience of strategic development work and change management, as well as experience of contributing to a management group with a focus on the overall operation and long-term development.
