The Naval Staff is seeking a communicator to support and develop internal and external communication for both the Navy and the Naval Staff.

About the position

In the role of communicator, you provide support in communication matters as part of the military staff and contribute to the communication of both the Naval Staff and the Navy. Currently, the Navy has eight units and schools functionally led by the Naval Staff. You will be part of the Naval Staff's communications section, which consists of a communications chief, two communicators, and a reserve officer. Organizationally, the section belongs to the M9 cooperation department. You report to the Navy's Communications Chief. As a communicator at the Naval Staff, you work close to the core operations, which means you also become part of the staff.

Main responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of communication efforts as part of the Naval Staff's daily work
  • Independently collect, process, and produce information in text and image; for internal and external use (e.g., talking points, web texts, social media posts)
  • Support Navy managers and employees within the communication field
  • Support the Swedish Armed Forces' central communication

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • University education in communication or documented knowledge and experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Good knowledge of English – both in speech and writing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Experience working within a government agency
  • Skills in photography, both still and moving images
  • Valid B driver's license (manual transmission)

Work location: Muskö.

Employment type: Permanent, starting with a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

Salary: Individual salary setting according to collective agreement.

Start date: By agreement.

Position level: Civil.

Tests may occur during the recruitment process.

Travel and exercises are part of the job.
