Vittra Schools is one of Sweden's leading independent school companies, with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. Together, we are responsible for approximately 8,000 children and students and employ around 1,000 staff members. We opened our first school in 1993 and have been part of AcadeMedia, the largest education company in the Nordics, since 2008. Vittra is a socially engaged preschool and primary school where children and students learn about themselves and the world. With us, conscious children and students are formed, equipped with the right tools and knowledge to create a better and more sustainable society. We achieve this through our unique pedagogical approach based on three pillars: conscious learning, brave culture, and clear structure.

We are looking for you who are driven and interested in the development of the after-school center (fritidshem). The role involves creating a meaningful leisure time that challenges and stimulates students to learn. A key part of the role is to identify and build upon students' own needs, interests, and experiences in the design of teaching based on national curricula. We offer you a challenging and educational job alongside your colleagues at the school. The position includes driving the development of the after-school center's activities in collaboration with the staff. This may involve, for example, jointly developing pedagogical environments that enable play and learning, as well as inspiring aesthetic learning processes such as music, visual arts, dance, and role-playing.

Your Qualities

You have clear leadership skills and are engaged in the students' social development. Working with student groups as a strength to develop social skills should be second nature to you. You are flexible and see the development of after-school activities as exciting and challenging. You work with language development in mind and always have the student's best interest at the forefront.

Personal Attributes:

  • It is important that you are a person who inspires others as much as you are inspired by them, and that you are passionate about your work.
  • You think flexibly and have initiative.
  • You dare to try new things and can turn ideas into practice.
  • You, like us, put the students first. We appreciate that you have an open-minded approach and are open to flexible solutions.

Requirements

  • You are a qualified teacher for after-school centers with a teaching license.
  • You have experience planning after-school activities based on the Swedish National Curriculum Lgr 22.
  • You have experience leading work within a student group.
  • Experience leading colleagues in various contexts.
  • Experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Functioning Differences (NPF).
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.

What We Offer

Vittra Jakobsberg is a school characterized by a strong sense of community and a willingness to support each other in our mission. We work together in teams. Our school has a multicultural mix that we are proud of. We have a high acceptance of different cultures and find multicultural work to be very enriching.

We want students to feel involved in the teaching and have the opportunity to influence what they work on. It is important to us that every student gets their due and feels seen by the teacher.

Additional Information

The position is a part-time role at 50% with the possibility of a permanent contract. Start date: 2026-08-10 or by agreement. Vittra has a collective agreement with Teachers' Union in Sweden (Sveriges Lärare), Vision, and Kommunal, which includes, among other things, a pension plan according to the ITP plan and insurance coverage.
