Ekhammar School is centrally located in Kungsängen with approximately 700 students and 100 staff members. The school covers grades 4–9 in primary school, as well as two municipality-wide teaching groups for grades 4–6 and grades 7–9.

Do you want to make a difference for students in a creative and inspiring school environment? Ekhammar School is now seeking a competent and engaged teacher in Swedish as a Second Language (SvA) for teaching in grades 6–9, starting in August 2026.

Job Description

As a teacher in Swedish as a Second Language, you meet students in teaching groups that run parallel to Swedish language instruction, and in some cases also during language elective periods. You are an important part of a grade-level team and the subject group for SvA, and you have excellent opportunities to develop students' knowledge through varied and inclusive teaching. You will become a key part of our team where collaboration and the student's best interests are at the center. It is most likely that you will also include mentorship in collaboration with a colleague, within the framework of your grade-level team.

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a certified teacher for the later years of primary school
  • Have experience teaching Swedish as a Second Language
  • Are passionate about language and pedagogy and want to inspire students to reach their goals
  • Are creative, flexible, and capable of creating a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Want to contribute to the school's development together with us, who already work here

Teaching experience is meritorious but not an absolute requirement.

About the Position:

The position is 100%. A probationary period may apply. Start date August 11, 2026, or by agreement.

About the Recruitment Process

You apply easily by attaching your CV, but without a cover letter. Instead, answer our selection questions. Candidates who are assessed to meet the mandatory requirements (i.e., education, knowledge, and experience required) will be offered the opportunity to take a work psychological test. Selection and interviews take place continuously during the advertising period.

We look forward to receiving your application by July 26, 2026. Interviews will be conducted continuously, so apply as soon as you can. We hope to have a teacher in place for the school start in August. The position may therefore be filled before the application deadline, and interviews will be conducted continuously.

If we do not find a suitable applicant with certification in SvA for grades 7–9, we may create a temporary position for a teacher who has certification in the subject but for other grade levels.
