Do you want to collaborate in our student health teams to promote decision-making competence among our students at two schools where safety, learning, and hope for the future are at the center? We are looking for a study and career counselor who wants to work closely with students and staff in an environment where collaboration, development, and high ambitions permeate everyday life.

About Bäckahagens School in Bandhagen (60%)

Bäckahagens School is a compulsory school (grades 0–9) with approximately 720 students. It also includes a special needs school, an intake group for newly arrived students in grades 7–9, and an RSU group. The school has a strong focus on safety, knowledge, and hope for the future. We work systematically with inclusive teaching and quality assurance to strengthen goal achievement and eligibility for upper secondary school. A special emphasis on gender equality will characterize the upcoming school year. Here, you will be part of an ambitious team with high participation and great joy in work.

About Slättgårdsskolan in Skärholmen (40%)

Slättgårdsskolan wants to make a difference for all students and achieves good results, both socially and academically.

Slättgårdsskolan is a compulsory school (grades 0–9) with approximately 540 students, operating in a multicultural area, which is very enriching for the entire operation.

Engaged teachers, a strong community, and documented good results create a school where children thrive, are challenged, and develop – both academically and socially.

Your employment will be based at Bäckahagens School, but the position is allocated 40% at Slättgårdsskolan.

Your role

• Support students in evaluating their interests, abilities, and values.
• Support students in creating a plan to achieve academic and career goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and guardians.
• Help students with upper secondary school choices.
• Organize work experience placements (prao) and find internship spots for students in grade 8.
• Be responsible for the schools' SYV plans.

Your competence and experience

The study and career counselor has competence comprising deep and current knowledge of educational pathways and systems, the labor market, working life, and professions.

Theoretical knowledge within career choice and counseling, knowledge and skills in conversational methodology, as well as methods for choice and decision-making, and proven experience are required.

Documented experience in education regarding gender and equality issues is meritorious.

Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby countering discrimination.

To work at our schools, you must present a valid extract from the police criminal record and suspicion register before an employment offer is made.
