Do you want to work with education in a safety-critical operation where your work makes a real difference – every day? SJ is now looking for a Responsibility for Competency-Based Maintenance Training who wants to take overall responsibility for the development and quality assurance of training that is crucial for safe and reliable rail traffic.
Your upcoming role
In this role, you are responsible for developing, quality assuring, and ensuring that SJ's competency-based basic and further training within technical maintenance meets requirements according to legislation, industry standards, and internal governing documents.
The role is a central link between competency management within Traffic Safety and operational activities. You work closely with technical specialists, educational developers, internal teachers, and training providers, ensuring that the training corresponds to the actual competence needs in the business. Through your work, you contribute directly to competence security, traffic safety, and that SJ lives up to its permits as a training provider.
In the role, you will among other things:
- Ensure quality and requirement setting for SJ's competency-based training within technical maintenance.
- Ensure that training content, methods, and requirements follow current legislation, industry standards, and internal processes.
- Act as an expert in training-related questions linked to safety management, in close collaboration with the Traffic Safety Support Function and operations.
- Conduct risk assessments related to training and competence.
- Draft, update, and interpret training-related governing documents and ensure they are implemented in operations.
- Collaborate with Traffic Safety, the technical organization, and other support functions to ensure uniform and relevant training.
- Represent SJ in industry-wide forums and collaboration bodies.
Expectations of the person we are looking for
You have a background in technical maintenance or manufacturing. As a person, you are analytical, structured, and quality-conscious as you are responsible for translating operational needs into clear requirements, training structures, and solutions that maintain high quality over time. You collaborate well with different functions and have an unpretentious and solution-oriented approach to drive the work forward effectively.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- Several years of experience in technical maintenance, manufacturing, or equivalent technical operations.
- Experience working with education in a safety-critical environment.
- Good knowledge of regulations and legislation related to personnel with safety-related tasks in rail or industry.
- Experience assessing competence requirements and training content in technical areas (e.g., assembly, pressure contact, safety-critical components).
- Experience in project management or driving development and change work.
- Good understanding of pedagogy, learning, and training methodology.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
- Completed training in traffic and electrical safety is meritorious.
