Scandic Hotels is the leading hotel chain in the Nordics, with a strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and smart property management. We are now looking for a Drift Engineer who wants to take overall responsibility for optimizing energy consumption at our hotels in the Stockholm area.

In this role, you will work strategically and operationally with 28 hotels in Stockholm, where each property has its own technical prerequisites, contracts, and energy needs. You will be based at the hotel closest to your home but will travel between our hotels to analyze, monitor, and develop operations.

This is a key role where your work directly impacts both the hotels' economy and Scandic's sustainability efforts.

About the Role:

As a Drift Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring energy-efficient and well-functioning technical operations at our hotels. You work closely with the hotels' local technicians, property owners, and external service partners.

You will not perform routine maintenance or repairs yourself, but will act as a technical specialist, advisor, and sounding board for the local operational teams. The role may also require you to perform practical on-site work at the hotels when needed, such as screwing, adjusting, or troubleshooting equipment.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Analyze energy consumption and identify opportunities for improvement and savings
• Optimize ventilation, heating, and cooling systems for the best possible operational economy and guest comfort
• Work with control and monitoring systems to ensure efficient operations
• Troubleshoot and rectify technical operational deviations
• Ensure that the hotels' patrol routines and operational processes function according to set standards
• Plan and follow up on preventive maintenance together with the hotels' technicians
• Coordinate and follow up with external contractors and service providers
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety regulations, and inspections
• Provide technical expert support during renovation and investment projects
• Contribute to the development of Scandic's long-term energy and sustainability work

Profile

To fit the role, we believe you have experience with energy efficiency in hotels or commercial properties.

We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with an analytical approach. You enjoy understanding how different systems interact and are driven by finding improvements that yield measurable results.

To succeed in the role, we believe you:

• Have experience in property management, energy optimization, or technical installation systems
• Have a good understanding of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
• Have experience with control and regulation systems
• Are accustomed to analyzing data and turning insights into concrete actions
• Are self-motivated and thrive with significant personal responsibility
• Are good at building trust and collaborating with technicians, contractors, and property owners
• Have good proficiency in Swedish and English

• Start: According to agreement
• Scope: Full-time and permanent
• Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30, flexible hours
• Location: You will be based at a Scandic hotel near your home, but a large part of the work takes place at our 28 hotels in Greater Stockholm.
