Job Description

We are now looking for a Service Area Manager with a focus on distribution networks for our team within Thermal Sweden. The role offers flexibility regarding location within Sweden, and you will operate in a national context with colleagues in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.

Here, you will have a key role in building on existing operations and clarifying direction, offerings, and priorities, in a time when energy systems are changing rapidly. You will become part of the leadership team and contribute to developing both the distribution network offering and the operations within Thermal Sweden.

As Service Area Manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the Distribution Systems service area. The role combines leadership, business development, and delivery responsibility, with a clear focus on strengthening our position and creating continued growth. You are responsible for personnel, working environment, and results, and work closely with customers and colleagues to develop the business and ensure high-quality deliveries.

You lead a team of approximately 10 employees as well as several sub-consultants and are part of a business unit of around 50 people. The role involves collaboration with other Service Area Managers within Thermal Sweden and some travel, primarily related to customer dialogues and leadership responsibilities. Depending on operational needs, there is also an opportunity to work operationally in consulting assignments part-time.

As Service Area Manager, you are part of the management group for AFRY Thermal Sweden, which today consists of four service areas: Distribution Systems, Piping and Plant Engineering, Process Design, and Project Management.

What knowledge and experience do you need?

Essential Requirements

• Experience working in district heating/cooling networks, gas pipelines, or similar energy infrastructure.
• Experience leading teams or larger projects in complex environments.
• Experience in customer responsibility/sales-oriented work.

Meritorious:

• Experience in design/construction management.
• Experience in strategy/business development.
• Leadership experience with personnel and budget responsibility.

In this role, it is also necessary that you master Swedish and English well, both in speech and writing.
