Job Description

We are now looking for a Service Area Manager with a focus on Project Management for our team within Thermal Sweden. The role is flexible regarding location within Sweden, and you will operate in a national context with employees across several locations.

Here, you will play a key role in building and further developing our project delivery capability during a time when energy systems are changing rapidly. You will become part of the management team and contribute to developing both the project management offering and the business within Thermal Sweden.

As a Service Area Manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the Project Management service area. The role combines leadership, capability development, and delivery responsibility, with a clear focus on establishing structure, ways of working, and quality in our projects. You will work on strengthening our ability to plan, steer, and deliver larger and more complex projects, including managing risks, developing methodologies, and ensuring we have the right competencies and ways of working in place.

You lead a team of project managers and are part of a business unit of approximately 50 people. The role involves collaboration with other Service Area Managers within Thermal Sweden and some travel, primarily related to customer dialogues and leadership responsibilities. Depending on business needs, there is also an opportunity to work operationally in projects or take an overarching role in larger projects, for example as a sponsor.

As a Service Area Manager, you are part of the management group for AFRY Thermal Sweden, which today consists of four service areas: Distribution Systems, Piping and Plant Engineering, Process Design, and Project Management.

What knowledge and experience do you need?

Must-haves

• Experience in project management of large/complex projects (e.g., EPC, EPC-M, Owner’s engineer)
• Experience in customer responsibility/sales work

Desirable:

• Experience working internationally
• Experience in project governance and project quality
• Experience in strategy/business development
• Leadership experience with personnel and budget responsibility

In this role, it is also necessary that you are proficient in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
