Operational Firefighter for Mjölby/Boxholm Rescue Service

Mjölby Rescue Service is part of the Community Development Administration and operates according to the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Act. We work to create safety and security for residents in both Mjölby and Boxholm, where we together form the Mjölby/Boxholm Rescue Service.

Our operations include both operational rescue services and extensive preventive work. We conduct training, supervision according to the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Act (LSO) and the Building Code (LBE), and serve as expert resources in fire safety matters within the municipality.

We collaborate closely with Rescue Service East Götaland (RTÖG), which is responsible for system leadership and dynamic resource management, as well as with Rescue Service Ödeshög. Together we create a robust and coordinated rescue organization with high readiness around the clock.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operational firefighter, you work on the front line to create safety and security in society through both emergency interventions and preventive work. The role involves participating operationally in rescue missions, exercises, and training, as well as contributing to information and educational efforts directed at the public. You are also responsible for supervision, maintenance, and control of vehicles, equipment, and materials. The work takes place both on and off the station and is characterized by continuous competence development and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• Firefighter training (SMO degree or other equivalent full-time training approved by the employer), or Part-time training (GRIB/Rescue Mission) with at least two years of continuous experience as a full-time firefighter, or at least five years of experience from RIB.
• Category B driver's license.
• Approved as a smoke diver in accordance with AFS 2023:13.
• Meet the medical requirements for smoke and chemical diving.
• Have swimming skills equivalent to the Gold Badge (Guldbojen).
• Have practical skills adapted to the different work tasks that may need to be performed during operational interventions.
• Have good physical fitness.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Category B96 driver's license.
• Off-road driving certificate.
• Vehicle mechanic qualifications.
• Category C driver's license.
