About the Company

Do you want to work closely with students and contribute to their development towards a profession? Praktiska Gymnasiet in Borås is an independent upper secondary school offering several vocational programs, including the Electrical and Energy program, Construction and Civil Engineering, Vehicle and Transport, as well as Restaurant and Food.

The school is a smaller operation with close collaboration between colleagues and students. There is a high level of engagement, short decision-making paths, and good opportunities to influence. You will become part of an operation that is under development, where you, together with colleagues, help set structure and working methods forward. The school has new premises and is located with good transport links, approximately five minutes from the city center.

Your Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher in the Electrical and Energy program, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching within your courses. You work closely with the students and play a key role in providing them with both vocational knowledge and security for future work in the industry. The role includes teaching, assessment, and documentation, as well as monitoring student development over time. You also work with students' workplace-based learning (APL), which involves contact with APL sites, preparation for internships, follow-ups, and tripartite meetings. You will become part of a work team where collaboration is important, and where you together contribute to the students' development, both academically and socially. Mentorship is included in the position.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a background in electricity, for example as an installation or service electrician. You have basic electrical competence and an interest in sharing your knowledge. Primarily, we are looking for you who have teacher certification. We are also interested in you who lack certification but have teaching experience and a relevant professional background. It is an advantage if you also have experience in construction or painting. You have good knowledge of Swedish and are confident in using digital tools in your work. As a person, you are stable, solution-oriented, and relationship-building. You thrive in meeting with students and contribute to good collaboration with colleagues and external contacts. We would appreciate it if you are flexible and can consider teaching in more subjects or even on the Construction and Civil Engineering program.
