About the OperationsBergslena Upper Secondary School (Adapted) offers national and individual programs. The adapted upper secondary school is a 4-year upper secondary education for students with intellectual disabilities. The school consists of various units located in different parts of Borås City. We are a small organization and we work closely with those we serve.
On the Individual Program, students study six subject areas, and on the National Program, we offer six vocational programs. We work to ensure that students become employable within their chosen vocational direction or reach as far as possible in their knowledge development. The climate is characterized by a secure learning environment and a professional view of the target group and their knowledge development.
Bergslena Upper Secondary School units offer short-term supervision for students before and after school hours.

The assignment includes using digital tools and AI as a natural part of teaching to strengthen students' learning and digital competence.
You plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate teaching, as well as analyze students' knowledge development to ensure high-quality teaching. Teaching is adapted based on each student's individual prerequisites, needs, and goals.
The role involves close collaboration with student assistants and other colleagues, where you share planning and pedagogical strategies to create the best possible conditions for students' development and learning.
Since the teaching includes practical moments and activities, you need to enjoy active work. You collaborate with student assistants in daily work and share planning and information to create a secure, structured, and developmental learning environment for the students.
QualificationsWe are looking for you who are a qualified vocational teacher with teacher certification in the current vocational area. If you also have a special education degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities, we consider this a merit.
It is also meritorious if you have experience teaching within national programs in the adapted upper secondary school. Experience from corresponding programs within upper secondary school is also valuable.

You take initiative, work independently, and at the same time find it easy to collaborate with colleagues and other professional groups. You see opportunities in challenges and use a creative and solution-focused approach to meet students' different needs.
You understand the importance of digitalization in teaching and for the target group, and you are curious about rapid technological development. We would like you to explore and use digital tools, including AI, as support for learning, participation, and development.
