Friskolan Metis in Skara is looking for a Swedish teacher who wants to help develop teaching in a school where innovation, engagement, and student focus are at the center.

We are a small school unit with just over 200 students from preschool class to grade 9, where we work to create a safe and inspiring learning environment. Here, every student is seen, every teacher is significant, and every day is an opportunity for development – for both students and staff.

About the role

As a Swedish teacher in lower secondary school (grades 7-9), you will have a central role in the students' development and learning. Depending on your qualifications, we also look into opportunities to teach other subjects. We also work with three themes per academic year where all teachers are involved and mentor students for two hours per week.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

✔ Inspire and challenge students in their learning through varied teaching methods.

✔ Collaborate with engaged colleagues to develop the school's pedagogical activities.

✔ Contribute to a safe and stimulating school environment, where students have the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.

✔ Be a clear leader and a responsive educator who sees every student and their individual needs.

You work closely with your work team to plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching in accordance with regulatory documents and the school's vision. The role requires resourcefulness, creativity, and flexibility to meet students' different prerequisites and create a learning environment where everyone can succeed.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who:

✅ Are a qualified and certified teacher in Swedish. If you also have qualifications in mathematics, it is an extra plus.

✅ Are passionate about student learning and development and have strong pedagogical skills.

✅ Have good leadership qualities and can create a safe and inspiring learning environment.

✅ Are a team player who values collaboration with colleagues and is unpretentious in your professional role.

✅ Are relationship-building and have the ability to build positive and sustainable relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

✅ Want to develop within your profession and contribute to the school's pedagogical development.
