Welcome to Vallhamra School – we are looking for a Craft Teacher!

As a craft teacher specializing in wood/metal and textiles, you will have the opportunity to create creative and meaningful learning experiences for our students. You will plan and conduct craft education where you inspire students to explore materials, techniques, and creative processes – helping them find joy and pride in their craftsmanship.

The position is primarily located in grades 7–9, but teaching may also take place in grades 2–9 depending on the school's needs. You will become part of our craft teacher team consisting of five dedicated craft teachers, providing excellent opportunities for support, collaboration, and development – particularly valuable if you are new to the profession or wish to grow in your teaching role.

The position also includes mentorship, where you, together with colleagues, support students' social and academic development. You will become a natural part of both a work team and a subject team, where collaboration and collegial learning are central. As a craft teacher, you will also participate in the municipal network for collegial learning within crafts, offering opportunities for development, inspiration, and idea exchange.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree or those who are in the final stages of their teacher education, qualifying you to teach crafts in grades 2–9. If you have qualifications in additional subjects, we view this as an asset, as it can broaden both your role and the school's offerings.

You have good collaborative skills and a high degree of personal maturity. For us, it is important that you are good at establishing and maintaining good relationships, are empathetic, and clear and structured in your working approach. You have the ability to see every student and possess the competence and ability to take their different prerequisites into account.

Vallhamra School (Grades F–9) is located in the southern part of Sävedalen in Partille Municipality, in a beautiful natural area right next to Vallhamra Square, which has good transport connections. Approximately 950 students attend the school. The school's pedagogical starting point is based on the core values: Safe, Joyful, Educational.
