Description

Ekmanska School is a newly established adapted primary school (grades 1–9) that started in autumn 2025. We are now looking for you who want to work as a student assistant.

The school is adapted for students with severe or profound intellectual disabilities, who require Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and also have significant mobility impairments. We started the autumn term 2025 with 5 students studying subject areas. We are expanding and are now in need of more student assistants who want to be part of our team and, together with us, be involved in the process of shaping Ekmanska School.

Responsibilities

As a student assistant in an adapted primary school, you work to support the students throughout the entire school day. You work in a team together with teachers and other colleagues to design and adapt the teaching to meet the students' specific needs based on the teacher's planning. Your task is to flexibly, together with the team, find ways for the students to reach their full potential, knowledge development, and independence. Since the school is newly established, we want you to be an involved party in the development of the operations through your competence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education with further education in the field, as well as at least 6 months of experience within adapted primary school. Experience and knowledge regarding work with multiple disabilities are meritorious for the position. Experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is also meritorious.

You are swimming competent.

You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think of those we are there for and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on how it went. You are pleasant and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect to everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure the student gets what that person needs.
