Do you want to share your passion for string music with the next generation of musicians? The Cultural School in Tanum Municipality is now looking for an engaged string teacher who wants to inspire children and young people to discover the joy of playing together.

The Cultural School in Tanum offers education in music, theatre, and visual arts for children and young people throughout the municipality. Here, different artistic expressions meet, and we often work cross-disciplinary in concerts, projects, and performances. As a string teacher, you will become part of a creative collegium where musicians, theatre educators, and visual arts educators collaborate to create inspiring meeting places for the creativity of children and young people.

About the position

As a string teacher, you teach students in string instruments, primarily individually but also in smaller groups and ensemble playing. The teaching takes place at several locations around Tanum Municipality, which means that travel is included in the position.

You will also become part of the Culture and Leisure Administration's cross-sectoral work, where different operations collaborate to strengthen cultural and leisure life for children and young people. There are collaborations between the cultural school, school, public and school libraries, general culture, association development, and youth clubs.

The position is a permanent part-time employment at 50%.

Start date by agreement.

Responsibilities

Teach children and young people in string instruments (e.g., violin, viola, or cello). Plan and conduct lessons as well as ensemble playing. Participate in concerts, performances, and joint projects. Collaborate with colleagues within the cultural school and other operations within Culture and Leisure.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have pedagogical education in music or other relevant education/experience.
• Have good knowledge of one or more string instruments.
• Enjoy working with children and young people and want to inspire music-making.
• Are creative, flexible, and thrive in collaboration with others.

We place great emphasis on how your competence, working method, and engagement mesh with the assignment and the work group.

Requirements:

• Category B driver's license and access to a private car.

It is meritorious if you have experience of teaching in a cultural school or similar operation.

Other

For work with children and young people, Tanum Municipality requests an extract from the criminal record register before employment.
