Nyheden is a grades 7–9 school with approximately 215 students. We work in close collaboration to create holistic solutions for the students. Our work is based on the student's opportunity for development and learning throughout the day. We have a high proportion of qualified teachers, and we strive for a good working environment for both students and staff. Nyheden School works purposefully with knowledge, security, and well-being.

The Child and Education Department has approximately 800 employees. The department's operations extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, compulsory school grades F-9, adapted compulsory school, after-school centers, catering and facility maintenance, mother tongue instruction, and library services.

A day as a teacher in Swedish/SVA

As a teacher in Swedish/SVA at Nyheden School, you will meet engaged students and colleagues who want to move forward together. You plan and conduct teaching based on clear goals and common structures - always with the student's learning in focus.

In several classes, we work with co-teaching, which means that you plan and teach together with a colleague. This provides more support for the students, greater flexibility in teaching, and good opportunities for collegial learning.

The day can include everything from joint presentations and problem-solving in pairs, to hands-on activities and digital work. You follow up on students' knowledge development and work closely with both mentors and student health services to create the best possible conditions for learning.

With us, collaboration within the work team is a natural part of everyday life. We share experiences, plan common themes, and support each other in developing teaching.

Your qualifications

Requirements:

• Teacher education with eligibility to teach Swedish and SVA in grades 7-9
• Good ability to create structure, study environment, and engagement in the classroom
• Ability to adapt teaching based on students' different needs and prerequisites
• Good collaboration skills and willingness to contribute to the school's joint development work
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written.

Merits:

• Subject combination with crafts and/or Spanish
• Experience of teaching in lower secondary school
• Experience of assessment, grading, and digital learning tools
• Experience of working with formative teaching and collegial learning
• Interest in development work, equity, and student influence

Other information

The position is permanent.

Full-time (100%).
