Prästkragen Preschool has three departments with a total of approximately 50 children. Our work is based on a holistic view of children and their needs, where care, development, and learning form a unity. We are now looking for a preschool teacher with a research-oriented approach who contributes to creating exploratory, supportive, and developmental learning environments. We seek a colleague who, together with other educators, wants to shape a practice where children are allowed to discover and learn in thoughtful environments, where systematic quality work is the red thread to make children's learning visible, with the aim of creating a high-quality preschool.

Prästkragen Preschool is part of the Child and Education Administration, which has approximately 800 employees. The administration's operations extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school (grades F-9), adapted primary school, leisure centers, catering and facility maintenance, mother tongue instruction, and library services.

A day as a preschool teacher at Prästkragen

In our municipality, your work is based on the children's interests, needs, and experiences. The practice is designed so that learning and teaching are adapted and varied according to the children's interests, prerequisites, and needs, ensuring that care, upbringing, and learning form a unity. As a preschool teacher, you plan the learning processes and, using a formative working method, implement, follow up, and evaluate teaching, all anchored in the curriculum. The children's learning is made visible through digital pedagogical documentation using iPads as a working tool.

At Prästkragen Preschool, you will work together with preschool teachers and childcare assistants in work teams. As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for the preschool's teaching and work together with your team. At Prästkragen, we work systematically to improve the quality of teaching and care through continuous individual and departmental analysis and reflection.

In the role of a preschool teacher in our area, it is important to be responsive, communicative, and solution-oriented. We work with inclusion, participation, and accessibility as core ideas.

Your Competence

Requirements:

• We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher.
• You are well acquainted with the national guidelines for preschool.
• Digital competence and interest in ICT are expected.

Merits:

• Practical experience with low-affective handling/interaction.
• Experience from previous work in preschool.

Other Information

The position is a fixed-term contract for the period August 2026 – August 2027, at 100%, with the possibility of permanent employment after the fixed-term contract ends.

Start date: August 2026 or as agreed.
