Cultural School in Bräcke Municipality Seeks Music Teachers

The Cultural School in Bräcke Municipality is seeking reinforcement for its music teaching team during the academic year 2026–2027. The work team divides duties between voluntary cultural school, project activities, and music instruction at the middle and upper secondary levels. The Cultural School operates mainly during daytime hours in Bräcke, Gällö, and Kälarne, and nearly half of all students in grades 4–9 participate in the regular activities. All team members teach multiple instruments across two locations, and we have students in all instrument groups except brass. We distribute locations, students, and project activities within the team at the start of each academic year. Instruction is generally fee-free.

Responsibilities

Music instruction and project activities in the cultural school and/or primary school. Approximately 1.5 positions in total, depending on student numbers in the fall and your competency profile. We are currently advertising vacancies due to extended leaves within the team and temporary project funding. This means parts of the positions may be offered for portions of the academic year or during school holidays based on needs and agreement, as project activities do not necessarily follow the academic year. Overall, this is flexible; even if you do not wish to have an academic year employment, you are welcome to apply! If we do not receive applications that match the needs, we will prioritize regular instruction in the cultural school and primary school.

Qualifications

We are primarily seeking trained and licensed music teachers who can also conduct instruction in primary schools, but if you have experience in instrument teaching, you are welcome to apply. Please specify which instruments you are comfortable with and what teaching experience you have for each instrument. During the academic year, we plan to work with open activities outside of school hours, and you need to have experience working independently with student groups. Other cultural forms may also become relevant here, so please mention any other cultural competencies you possess. Personal suitability and competencies that complement the work team will be decisive.

A Category B driver's license is required, and having your own car will most likely be necessary. Since the activities are conducted within the framework of the Education Act, we follow the Act's requirements for an extract from the criminal record register. Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-11. The positions are fixed-term until: 2026-12-18 and 2027-06-18 respectively, or as agreed.
