The Department of Children and Education, Östersund Municipality, is looking for an engaged teacher for grades 4–6 at Vallaskolan.

The position is a fixed-term employment during the academic year 2026–2027 with a monthly salary. The employment may be converted to a permanent position. Start date: 2026-08-11.

Vallaskolan is a school for grades F–9 located on Frösön with 576 students. The school is beautifully situated on Frösön with a magnificent view of the mountain world. Our common goal is that all our students leave Vallaskolan with good knowledge and great confidence in themselves and their own abilities.

We focus heavily on learning and development for both students and staff. We work with careful follow-up and evaluation to develop the school based on research and proven experience. Your new job

Class teacher for a class in grades 4–6.

We are looking for a middle school teacher who wants to help develop our students in grades 4–6. You will teach several subjects and have a central role in the children's learning and development. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to the school's steering documents, taking into account each student's individual needs and prerequisites.

You are expected to contribute to a positive and creative work environment where learning and collegial support are in focus. Your work will be characterized by collaboration with colleagues, where you together work for continuous pedagogical development and to create the best conditions for the students' success.

Common tasks

• Work as a teacher in grades 4–6.
• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in grades 4–6.
• Collaborate and develop teaching within the grade 4–6 team together with your colleagues.
• Participate in our systematic quality work regarding analysis of knowledge, security, and well-being.

Your qualifications

Requirements

• Licensed teacher for grades 4–6.
• Good IT skills.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

Merits

• Experience of having worked as a teacher.
• Previous experience of working within the school system.
• Experience working with digital tools in teaching is a merit.
• Knowledge of the school's steering documents and the ability to apply them in daily work.

We see that you have good experience working towards set goals and following up on the results of your teaching, adjusting it so that students reach their knowledge goals. You have good insight into students' different prerequisites and adapt your teaching to the group's and the individual's needs. You are clear in your relationships with students and are a secure and stable adult. You have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues and drive the development of teaching together with them. You have good structure and can create clear plans for your teaching.
