Arnljotskolan, with approximately 190 students, is located on Frösön. The school covers preschool class to grade 3, as well as after-school care. The school's vision is "Knowledge, Safety, and Study Environment".
Arnljotskolan is looking for a Teacher (Preschool Class - Grade 3)
One of our experienced lower primary teachers has taken the next step in her career and become a school leader – we are both proud and happy for her. This means we now have a vacancy in the lower primary section at Arnljotskolan, where you will step into a well-functioning class and take over where she leaves off. We are looking for you who want to be a secure adult, a clear leader, and a curious pedagogue for our youngest students – and who believes that a love for reading, math puzzles, and everyday humor is a perfect combination.
We want you to be passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environment where all students feel they can succeed. With us, you will become an important part of the school's whole and a central figure for both students and guardians – with heart, structure, and just the right amount of laughter in everyday life.
What you will do
As a lower primary teacher, you are the class teacher with overall responsibility for your group, while also seeing each individual and their needs. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on the curriculum and the school's working methods, focusing on safety, study environment, and a clear thread in the students' learning. You work closely with colleagues, student health services, and after-school care to create a cohesive school day – from the first morning assembly to the last after-school activity.
As a lower primary teacher with us, you will among other things:
- Plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on the curriculum and the school's governing documents
- Teach with extra focus on language, reading, and writing development, as well as basic mathematics
- Create clear structures, routines, and a safe classroom environment where students dare to ask, try, and sometimes fail on the way
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, student health services, and after-school care in a close team regarding students' learning and well-being
- Maintain regular contact with guardians to support the student's development and create involvement
- Work practically with values, inclusion, study environment, and safety throughout the school
Who we are looking for
We are looking for you who are confident in the teacher role, enjoy collaborating, and have a positive view of children, learning, and development. You thrive when there is clear structure, but can also think flexibly when reality demands it – for we all know that school days rarely turn out exactly as planned. You are curious, reflective, and are happy to contribute both ideas and a relaxed, professional calm to the work team.
To thrive and succeed in the role, we would like you to:
- Be a certified teacher with eligibility to teach in lower primary school
- Have at least 1 year of experience working in primary school, preferably with younger children
- Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both orally and in writing
- Have good computer skills and feel comfortable with digital tools in teaching and documentation
- Have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and be able to translate them into teaching, assessment, and follow-up
- Have experience from some form of leadership function, such as team leader or member of the school's leadership group (meritorious)
Why you should want to work with us
At Arnljotskolan, you step into a daily life where words like safety, development, and learning are actually noticeable in what we do. We are part of the public sector and a municipal organization with clear values and good development opportunities.
Here we work close to each other, with open doors, low threshold for questions, and a culture where we share materials, ideas, and both small and large successes. You get good opportunities for professional development and competence development within pedagogy, language-developing working methods, and leadership, both in the classroom and in the work team.
You are covered by municipal employment benefits and investments in health and wellness. The work environment is characterized by cooperation, collegial learning, and an inclusive climate where curiosity, creativity, and responsibility are encouraged. Furthermore, we operate in a nature-oriented and stimulating environment that offers great opportunities to move teaching outdoors when appropriate.
We handle applications on a rolling basis.
How the recruitment process works
In this recruitment, we will ask you for an extract from the criminal record.
Interviews may take place on a rolling basis. We want you to attach a CV and a cover letter to your application. Grades/certificates do not need to be sent with it. We ask you to complete this if an interview becomes relevant.
