Odensala School is Östersund Municipality's largest primary school, with over 600 students from preschool class to grade 9. The school is newly built, and the last students moved in as recently as autumn 2023. Your new job

We are now looking for you who are a teacher with qualifications in Home Economics for grade 6 to join Odensala School for a temporary position during the autumn term of 2026, with a desired start in August. The position is 50%.

You will be part of a team of teachers where you will collaboratively plan and be responsible for the students' education and development. Your focus will be on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trust-building environment. You will teach primary school students in the subject of Home Economics, where you will educate and support the students in their social and knowledge-based development. You will challenge students to take initiative, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others.

Your qualifications

Requirements

• Teacher education with a specialization in Home Economics
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious qualifications

• Previous experience working in a school is meritorious
• You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work
• You are computer literate, and experience with digital systems aimed at schools, such as IST, Google Workspace, Unikum, or Skola24, is meritorious

We are now looking for a teacher who has the ability to see each student and adapt teaching to individual needs. You are structured and flexible in your approach and have a good ability to switch between different teaching situations and tasks. You have clear leadership in the classroom and recognize the importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment. As a person, you are relationship-building and find it easy to build trusting contacts with students, colleagues, and guardians. You have good collaboration skills and are eager to contribute to collegial learning and the school's common development. We place great emphasis on personal qualities for this position.
