Odensalaskolan is Östersund Municipality's largest primary school with over 600 students from grades F-9. The school is newly built, and the last students moved in as recently as autumn 2023. A key focus for us is to collaboratively develop a shared school culture characterized by cooperation, engagement, and the students' best interests at the center. Our goal is to create a high-quality operation with a high level of knowledge and strong social competence, together with guardians and students, to give our pupils the best possible conditions for success in life. Your new job
As an after-school educator (fritidspedagog), you will support the children's development and learning. You are the person who will support students in their schoolwork and be present throughout the day, giving you a holistic view of how the student and the group function both during school hours and during after-school activities.
Your task is to conduct teaching in the after-school center. You will be responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up. Collaboration with the rest of the team and the center is important to ensure that students have the opportunity to develop as much as possible. Learning can take many forms, and all students are different and have different needs. Adapting the activities to meet everyone's needs is a significant and important task.
The position also requires you to be available during breaks to support students in need of assistance or to lead break-time activities.
Start date: According to agreement.
Common tasks
- Plan, implement, and evaluate pedagogical activities in the after-school center.
- Support students' social development, interaction, and independence.
- Work actively with core values, safety, and relationship building.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff regarding the student's entire school day.
- Participate as classroom support.
- Lead break-time activities.
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with guardians and contribute to good relationships.
Your qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed after-school educator or primary teacher with a focus on after-school centers.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- You have good computer skills.
Merits:
- You have good knowledge of the after-school center's steering documents and can apply them in daily work.
- You have experience working with digital systems aimed at schools, such as: Google Workspace, Unikum, Skola24, IST.
- Previous professional experience.

You have the empathetic ability to understand students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as the ability to listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to further development.
You are flexible, creative, and self-motivated. Furthermore, you are confident in your pedagogical leadership and have a good ability to build relationships with both students and colleagues.
