RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome to Furuby School! The school is located approximately 15 km east of Växjö and is situated in a beautiful natural setting near a lake and forest. At Furuby School, we have students from preschool class through grade six, as well as an after-school center (fritidshem). In total, there are approximately 75 students at the school and about 35 students at the after-school center. Furuby School offers many of the positive advantages of a small school. All staff know all the students, the students know each other, and there is a strong sense of cohesion at the school and within the work teams. It is a safe place for students to develop both academically and socially.
We focus heavily on safety, study environment, and meeting each student based on their needs and strengths. We currently have about 10 staff members in various roles, including two after-school teachers. Since the school is small, the entire unit collaborates on both organization and pedagogy.
We are now looking for a new after-school teacher. The position is primarily aimed at the after-school center but may also involve responsibility for the school library or alternatively, physical education.
As an after-school teacher, you are responsible for planning the activities before and after school for children enrolled in the after-school center. The after-school program in Furuby is open from 6:15 AM to 5:30 PM, and this includes both opening and closing duties during the week. Collaboration with the rest of the school staff is crucial for the operation to function well in this small unit. During school hours, after-school staff may have tasks such as support in classrooms, recess supervision, or their own teaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a certified after-school teacher, possibly with qualifications in physical education or another teaching subject. Experience in similar roles is meritorious, and personal suitability is important.

You should work from a holistic perspective where both joy and engagement have a place, but also structure and organization are made visible. You are a clear leader and have a professional approach. You have the ability to create a good working climate with colleagues and collaborate willingly in various constellations.
You are engaged and driven when it comes to finding solutions and support for students with various difficulties. You work structured based on current governing documents. It is important that you have good knowledge of meeting students' different needs based on their different prerequisites and that you can build trusting relationships with both students and guardians as well as colleagues.
