The students' results and development are always in focus in our work. The central aspect for us at Sjöängsskolan is that all students should succeed, and our job is to help them do so.

In the after-school center (fritidshem) at Sjöängsskolan, the education is designed to complement preschool class and primary school. We have a holistic view of education where learning, development, and care are included. We continuously monitor the development of students and student groups and use the results to develop the operations.

Job Description

The position is a temporary assignment during the school year 2026/2027.

In the role of an after-school teacher (lärare i fritidshem), you will be responsible for ensuring that the education is designed in accordance with the Education Act, the curriculum, and other national and municipal steering documents.

In the after-school center, you and your colleagues offer students a meaningful leisure time by starting from the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but also by continuously challenging them further and inspiring new discoveries. In the education, you work to promote students' imagination, empathy, and ability to learn together with others through play, movement, and creative work with aesthetic forms of expression, as well as exploratory and practical working methods.

Together with your colleagues, you work for a trusting, open, and respectful collaboration with homes and conduct development talks, together with the primary school, to give a holistic perspective on the student's learning and development.

You will be part of a work team with several different pedagogical professions such as primary school teachers, after-school teachers/after-school pedagogues, childcare workers, and student assistants. At Sjöängsskolan, you will work in a work team for grades 1+3, where you primarily work with grade 3, but also with grade 1 in the after-school center and on the playground.

As an after-school teacher/after-school pedagogue, you plan and develop the after-school activities together with your colleagues, both in the grade where you work, but also together with colleagues for other grades. Together, you carry out an activity that starts from the goals of the curriculum with the students' learning in focus. We value joy and creativity in the activity where students' development and learning are stimulated and challenged in a positive way.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified after-school teacher.

You value that the activity is based on a scientific approach in everyday life, and you have experience in conducting education that gives the student the opportunity to develop ideas, solve problems, and put ideas into action.

You are secure, stable, have good self-insight, and adapt your approach depending on the situation. You appreciate working towards goals and focus on continuous improvements of the activity and your own professional practice. You have good collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and guardians. You have good ability to listen, communicate, and solve conflicts in a constructive way. You are structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing the work in an effective way.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
