Job Description

We are now looking for you who want to be part of the adapted primary school at Kroksbäcksskolan and who want to work with the important role of a teaching assistant.

As a teaching assistant, you work with a student during school hours and under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). You are involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work with students under the guidance of the responsible teacher. You contribute to promoting the students' cognitive and social development based on their specific needs. As a teaching assistant, you act as the student's support in both instruction and physical care needs, such as dressing and undressing, changing diapers, etc. You function as a compensation for the skills the students have not yet fully developed, both cognitively and physically, while simultaneously giving them the opportunity to practice developing these skills. The role involves working to strengthen the student's cognitive and physical abilities as well as working towards their independence. The work as a teaching assistant involves varying tasks depending on the nature of the individual assignment and includes extensive collaboration with other professional groups and functions.

Qualifications

You who apply have completed upper secondary education. A focus on nursing/care is considered meritorious. You must have experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and autism. You must also have experience working with a clear low-arousal approach. If you have worked in the adapted primary school, we consider this meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have competence and experience in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

Since you communicate daily with students who have linguistic and cognitive challenges, it is important that you have good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish. We assume that you have good insight into the school's governing documents and that you work based on the norms and values upon which the school rests.

You are good at building relationships and have the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from the student. You have a positive view of students, characterized by a belief that all students can and should develop their full potential. As a teaching assistant, you need to have good knowledge of the needs of all current students and be flexible in daily work. You are clear, but also sensitive to what the student needs in different situations. You have patience and are solution-focused. You see the value in collegial collaboration and learning together. In the collegium, you show good cooperation skills and have a positive attitude.

In this recruitment, a personality test will be used as part of the selection process. The test will be sent to you if you match the requirements for the position.
