We are looking for several engaged, secure, and responsible personal assistants who wish to work full-time on a rolling schedule with a 13-year-old client with autism and extensive support needs.

This is meaningful work for you who want to make a real difference in a young person's daily life and enjoy working closely with both the client and their family. About the client The client is a happy and energetic 13-year-old boy with autism, intellectual disability, and significant difficulties with speech and communication. He also has a medical condition (situs inversus) that requires daily treatment and supervision. He lives with his family and enjoys play, music, movement, his siblings, his father, and his pet birds at home. To feel well, he needs clarity, structure, and predictability in his daily life. Working hours and schedule We are looking for assistants for full-time employment on a rolling schedule. Weekdays Morning shift 06:30–08:00 The work shift starts in Rissne where you help the client with morning routines and preparations for the school day. Afterward, you accompany the client via taxi service to the school in Rotebro. The shift ends at the school in Rotebro. Afternoon shift From 14:30 onwards The work shift starts at the school in Rotebro. You accompany the client via taxi service home to Rissne and then continue working in the home according to the client's needs and planned activities. Weekends Day shift 09:00–20:00 During weekends, you work together with the client at home and at various activities outside the home. The focus is on creating a safe, active, and meaningful day by following the client's daily routines and planned activities. About the job As a personal assistant, you support the client throughout his daily life. The tasks include among other things: Personal care and supervision - Communication and social interaction - Activities, play, and training - Support with transfers and daily routines - Medical routines according to instructions - Collaboration with family and other professional actors The work is based on daily routines and structures developed by the habilitation center. These routines must be followed consistently and cannot be changed without agreement. As an assistant, you actively work to fill the client's day with meaningful engagement through mental, physical, and social activities adapted to his needs and condition. Examples of activities Indoor activities - Drawing, writing, or using a computer when possible - Baking together - Playing hide-and-seek - Play in the home corner with focus on communication and interaction - Watching favorite programs or movies together - Building train tracks - Listening to music and dancing - Resting together in a calm environment with relaxing music - Reading simple picture books in a playful way - Water play with toys in the bathroom when appropriate - Watching birds and the surroundings from the balcony - Presence and social interaction through play, fun, and shared activities Outdoor activities - Walks - Visits to playgrounds with focus on movement and motor training - Playing with balls, jump ropes, sandbox toys, and other activities based on the client's interests - Cycling - Excursions to places like Leo's Playland, JumpYard, or other appreciated activities - Forest excursions and nature experiences Important challenges in the job The client has extensive support needs and may sometimes display challenging behaviors. This may involve him: - Becoming frustrated, angry, or aggressive - Fighting or being aggressive under strong emotional arousal - Displaying self-harming behaviors, such as hitting his head - Having difficulty understanding instructions, boundaries, and consequences - Reacting negatively to changes or demands - Having strong reactions to reprimands and the word "no" The client communicates primarily through body language, sounds, and individual words. Therefore, it is important that you are attentive, observant, and able to interpret his signals. Important to know - The client needs constant supervision and cannot be left alone. - You need to be calm, stable, and secure even in pressured situations. - The job requires a low-affective approach. - You need to be able to prevent conflicts and create security. - Patience, flexibility, and cooperation skills are crucial qualities.
