Do you want a key role in working with chemical safety and regulatory compliance in the Swedish Armed Forces? We are looking for an overarching chemical coordinator for the Defence Staff Support Unit, Business and Supply Management Division (FST STÖD AFL). FST STÖD AFL creates the prerequisites for meeting the Swedish Armed Forces' needs for contracts with external suppliers, customers, and service products. The purpose is to ensure robust supply at all levels of conflict through good business practices and long-term partnerships.
The overarching chemical coordinator takes collective responsibility for management, legal monitoring, and system support regarding chemicals – serving as a clear support for operations throughout the organization.
Who are we?
At the new Business and Supply Management of the Defence Staff Support, we ensure the supply of the Swedish Armed Forces and the dimensioning of logistics as an ally in NATO at the military strategic level. Currently, we have broad competence from both the military and civilian sectors.
We are to contribute to enabling our national responsibility in international cooperation and within the NATO alliance. Sweden's new role is, among other things, to be a basing and transit country, and since joining the alliance, we have entirely new flows and volumes to handle.
In the long term, we envision that within the section, we will have a breadth of strategic competencies within supply chain, where each conducts change management and projects for a group of supplies. Currently, we are seeking competencies for ammunition, fuel, food, and materiel.
Main Responsibilities
As an overarching chemical coordinator, you work at a strategic and organization-wide level with management, regulatory compliance, and legal monitoring regarding chemicals. You set the frameworks within which the Service Branches and the Armed Forces must operate, and you support and hold accountable chemical coordinators further down in the organization, as well as chemical representatives and chemical responsible persons.
You are also overall responsible for the organization's common system support for chemical management – with a special focus on content and policy.
Key Tasks:
- Overall management, regulatory compliance, and legal monitoring in the chemical field
- Develop guidelines and frameworks for the Service Branches and Armed Forces to adhere to and work within
- Support and hold accountable chemical coordinators, chemical representatives, and chemical responsible persons within the organization
- Responsible for content and policy in the organization-wide system support

- Current and relevant experience in developing governing documents, guidelines, and policies
- Current and relevant experience in coordinating, supporting, and holding accountable across organizational boundaries

Personal Attributes
As a person, you are structured, self-initiating, and accustomed to driving issues forward with a holistic perspective. You have good collaboration skills and feel confident in dialogue with different roles within the operations, from specialists to managers. Through your clear communication and ability to build good relationships, you contribute to efficient collaboration and good results.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
